BACKGROUND

MPA Creative was recruited by global sports and media company IMG to implement a well-executed, relevant and successful PR campaign for the FIA World Rallycross Championship (World RX).

MPA Creative set up the World RX Press Office, introducing a formal accreditation process and managing 12 national press officers from each of the local markets. Working with leading manufacturers, MPA Creative helped promote rallycross in new territories and attracted more than 30 media nationalities to attend World RX events throughout 2014.

As well as writing and distributing news releases, MPA Creative’s responsibilities regarding the Championship included inviting key media to the official Season Launch, acting as the official FIA media delegate, leveraging driver and celebrity wildcard profiles and positioning World RX as an attractive sponsorship platform.

CASE STUDY

MPA Creative worked closely with World RX teams and leading manufacturers to deliver the successful press launch of the 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship. Using the Franciacorta circuit in Italy, over 150 media travelled from across the world to attend the launch, where several key announcements were made.

MPA Creative also worked with Championship sponsor Monster Energy, bringing key influencers and VIPs from their local markets. Passenger rides were given to attending VIPs and media to secure further press coverage. MPA Creative additionally managed the World RX TV crew to oversee a video news release. The VNR was distributed by MPA Creative to all World RX broadcasters and was successfully picked up to be used as an official advert in the run-up to the 2014 season.
