Calling all extreme action fans. Tickets for the 2016 World RX of Great Britain, round four of the FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy, are now on sale.
Hosted at the birthplace of the sport – the iconic Lydden Hill Circuit – over the Spring Bank Holiday weekend (28-29 May, 2016), the standout event is set to be an unmissable two days of high-octane, wheel-to-wheel racing and motor sport demonstrations.
For the uninitiated, rallycross is the perfect blend of off-road rallying and on-road circuit racing, pitching fire-spitting 600bhp cars – capable of 0-60mph in under two seconds – against each other in a dramatic short circuit race format.
Designed for both fans and drivers alike, World RX is fast-paced and intense, with a typical weekend featuring in excess of 50 races, ensuring there is never a dull moment.
In the last edition of the World RX of Great Britain, thousands of fans packed out the historic Kent-based venue to witness double FIA World Champion Petter Solberg fight off stiff opposition from an all-star cast of drivers including two-time DTM Champion Mattias Ekström, US Top Gear presenter and stunt driver Tanner Foust, local hero Liam Doran, multiple British Rally Champion Guy Wilks, BTCC star Andrew Jordan and 2013 winner Andreas Bakkerud.
In addition to the captivating competition from the headlining Supercars, the weekend also features racing from the Touring Car and RX Lites support classes as well as demonstrations from Drift and Retro Rallycross machinery.
For the 2016 event, those booking in advance are offered considerable savings. Adult tickets for Saturday and Sunday are now on sale for £25 and £30, with full weekend admission priced at £50. These will respectively rise to £30, £35 and £60 on the gate. Children 12 and under go free if accompanied by a paying adult. Weekend camping is also available.
