Hansen Motorsport and leading motorsport agency MPA Creative have today (22 February) announced a partnership for 2023.

With Hansen Motorsport as the overall umbrella, the partnership will also include Hansen World RX Team, Kevin Hansen, Timmy Hansen, and the development team #YellowSquad.

Hansen Motorsport boasts more than 30 years of experience with its expertise, commitment, and passion for the sport having been rewarded with more top-level rallycross championship titles than any other team. The outfit has recently transitioned into the new all-electric era of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, which will enter its second season this year.

Meanwhile, alongside their commitments in World RX, Timmy and Kevin Hansen will continue to compete for different teams in Extreme E, as they have for the past two seasons.

In addition to the World RX Team and its drivers’ activities, Hansen Motorsport also supports the development of young drivers through its #YellowSquad programme.

Ranging from PR and social media management of all events to acting as a media representative at #YellowSquad race events, MPA will highlight Hansen Motorsport’s core values which focus on youth development and sustainability.

Hansen Motorsport was the first rallycross team in the world to become a member of the UNFCCC Sports for Climate Action initiative, as well as the first team to get the FIA Three Star accreditation, and their emphasis on sustainable practices will feature in content throughout the year.

Alongside changing to electric cars in World RX, the team has also re-organised its transport to reduce travel distances, while using electricity from 100% renewable sources in their HQ and implementing a waste management system.

Kenneth Hansen, Team Principal Hansen Motorsport, said: “At Hansen Motorsport we have always worked hard to improve every detail of the team. That’s why we have two of the best rallycross drivers in the world, some of the best mechanics and engineers in the sport, and have always worked to give our partners the best exposure and experience we can.

“Aligning with an experienced agency like MPA is another step for us in communicating the new era of a more sustainable World Rallycross that we are competing in, of course, with the aim of achieving success this year.”

Simon Melluish, MPA Creative Managing Director, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Hansen Motorsport to the MPA family and can’t wait to get started. MPA and Hansen Motorsport share core goals and values within the sport, including our shared passion and experience in areas such as sustainability.

“Returning to the World Rallycross paddock with such a renowned outfit is something we’re hugely excited about, as well as working across all of the projects and events that this partnership encompasses.”

Susann Hansen, Team Manager Hansen Motorsport, added: “I’m happy and thrilled for Hansen Motorsport to have MPA as our communications partner this year.

“I’ve seen and appreciated their work for a long time and now finally our paths have crossed. Communication is key to any team, so we’re looking forward to what they will develop and create for us in this area.

“I can’t wait for the season to begin with these skilled people by our side to spread the news and excitement of rallycross and all other sides of Hansen Motorsport, including Kevin and Timmy’s participation in Extreme E.”

The 2023 FIA World Rallycross Championship returns to a three-continent global format. With events across Europe joined by trips to South Africa and Asia (TBC), the championship will bring a thrilling mix of the best traditional circuits in the sport as well as exciting new venues.
