MPA PLAY KEY ROLE IN LAUNCH OF YAS HEAT ESPORTS

By 14th August 2020NEWS

Building on the hugely successful #NotTheGP series, MPA has continued its collaboration with Veloce Esports culminating in the launch of YAS HEAT ESPORTS earlier this week.

The launch itself was hosted by renowned Dubai sports presenter Robbie Greenfield and broadcast live from the UAE. Robbie spoke to Saif Al- Noaimi, Acting CEO of ADMM and Team Principal of YAS HEAT, Ibrahim Al Mubarak, YAS HEAT Gran Turismo driver and Jack Clarke, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Veloce Esports giving those watching a real insight into what the project has entailed so far, and what’s in store over the coming years.

The team’s first order of business is the inaugural season of the V10 R-League, part of the Global Racing Series, competing against renowned motorsport powerhouses such as Williams Esports, BWT Racing Point Esports Team, Ford (Fordzilla) and JAESA TEAM SUZUKI.

Beyond the V10 R-League, YAS HEAT will enter into Forza and Gran Turismo competitions among other high-profile esports events with an array of first-class gamers with the target of making a strong and immediate impact, as well as inspiring rising gaming talent.

The professional YAS HEAT team is one part of the larger brand vision. Legacy aspects of the project are also key factors with the aim of raising awareness of esports and motorsport in the UAE as well as attracting upcoming sim-racers into the YAS HEAT Open Trials initiative. This unprecedented driver programme will host regional trials over the next 12 months, with the ultimate aim of selecting five outstanding applicants to form the official development academy.

Saif Al- Noaimi, Acting CEO of ADMM and Team Principal of Yas Heat said: “We are delighted to continue our work with MPA; they have been avid supporters of ADMM and Abu Dhabi since the Yas Marina Circuit was a just a plan on a drawing board.

“They understand both the region and our ethos to nurture and develop talent and provide world-class opportunities for the enjoyment and benefit of all.

“The Yas Heat Esports programme is a natural continuation of our strategy in the development of Yas Marina Circuit and Abu Dhabi as a world-class motorsport hub alongside supporting the development of local sporting talent; MPA are a natural partner for us to work with on this continuing journey”

Jack Clarke, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer, Veloce Esports commented: “We are really excited to be working with MPA once again, the #NotTheGP series went off without a hitch so we knew the guys in Weybridge would be a perfect fit for this project.

“I think everyone is really pleased with how the launch went, it was a lot of work but it was worth it to see everything come together – albeit virtually – earlier this week.

“We can’t wait to see what the future holds for YAS HEAT ESPORTS, personally I can’t wait to see the cars on track for the first time! I know that Veloce Esports, ADMM, YAS HEAT and MPA are going to continue to work well together and deliver this amazing project to the fans.”
