TWISTER AND SHOUT AT CROFT WITH EPIC AEROBATICS

By 11th February 2016NEWS

Visitors to the 2016 Croft Nostalgia Festival will have to keep their eyes to the skies as well as on the track this summer (6-7 August), with thunderous action on the circuit perfectly complemented by spectacular aerial displays – including the new addition of the show-stopping Twister Aerobatic Team.

Formed in 2010, the Twister Aerobatic Team has starred at events across Europe and the Middle East with its nimble Silence Twister aircraft, wowing crowds with an astonishing airborne ballet that combines sweeping close formation loops and barrel rolls with opposition aerobatics.

Now, Twister Duo G-TWST and G-RIOT and their pilots Peter Wells and Chris Burkett are coming to Croft, and will be performing their awe-inspiring synchronised dance during the lunch break on both Saturday, 6 August and Sunday, 7 August.

“It’s fantastic to have the Twister Aerobatic Team at this year’s Croft Nostalgia Festival,” enthused Circuit Manager Mike Cantelo. “Seeing the Twisters in flight truly is an unforgettable experience, and their incredible stunts really do need to be seen to be believed.

“The skill in the air will be matched by the skill on the circuit, as this is an event that never fails to produce exciting wheel-to-wheel racing between cars that last competed regularly many moons ago. We’ve got more high-profile announcements coming up, too, so if you haven’t been to the Nostalgia Festival before, there’s never been a better time – and if you have, we promise you the biggest and best show yet!”

In addition to the Twisters, visitors can lap up a full timetable of exhilarating retro races featuring sportscars, single-seaters and saloons spanning more than four decades.

Off the track, meanwhile, there will be entertainment in the main marquee with a period ‘Best Dressed’ competition – including prizes for both ladies and gents on both days – and attendees can enjoy cream teas or Pimms while listening to songs from the ‘40s and ‘50s. Not only that, but there will be iconic classic car exhibits and military vehicles with living history encampments throughout the paddock.
